Intermediate Russian (MLR2030)

30 credits

This module will help you build on language skills acquired by taking MLR1030 (Beginners’ Russian). You will cover all the Russian grammar not dealt with in the first year, and revise other important elements of grammar. The module will help you develop the skills you need for study abroad in Russia in your third year, including aural skills. Oral practice will focus on real-life situations you may encounter. You will practise writing independently in Russian to prepare you for the writing element in your year abroad assessment.  Translation from Russian will enable you to develop your vocabulary and use your grammatical knowledge. A growing level of skill in comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary all contribute to developing your confidence in spoken Russian.

This module is designed for students who have successfully completed the level one Russian language module for beginners, MLR1030.
