The Language Centre at the University of Exeter is a great place to learn a language, whether for study, work or just for fun. At the Language Centre we offer daytime credit-bearing modules as part of your undergraduate studies at no extra cost. Alternatively, our Evening Language Programme offers a range of language courses for students, staff, alumni, the public and business.
As well as first-class learning resources, we provide excellent teaching by suitably qualified and experienced professionals, so that learning a language is both enjoyable and rewarding.
We are a member of the Association of University Language Centres, AULC.
The Language Centre has a light and spacious Resource Area for self-study, networked PCs (with swipe card printer) and a range of print and audio materials. The Resource Area is open to all current students and staff across the University, Monday - Friday 09.00 - 18.30 (term-time only).
See some of the facilities on offer at the Language Centre by taking a virtual tour.
Language Centre Student Resource Assistants
We have a dedicated team of Language Centre Student Resource Assistants who are on hand to provide advice and assistance.
Would you like to join the team?
We advertise any positions available via the University Student Campus Partnership scheme. Our recruitment normally takes place in April/May and opens around Easter every year.

The Language Centre is based on the 2nd Floor, Queen's Building, on the Streatham University Campus, Exeter. There is access for wheelchair users via the main lift next to the Queens Reception Desk.
An online campus map is available showing the location of the Queen's Building (marked as building 11 on the map) and the Centre.
To Queen's Building, it is about 15 minutes on foot (steeply uphill for the last part!) from Exeter St.David's train station and about 20 minutes from Exeter Central train station. If you are coming by bus from the City Centre, there is a bus stop directly opposite the building on Queen's Drive.
