Exeter DELF/DALF Accredited Examination Centre

French DELF/DALF - Exeter

Interested in French proficiency diplomas?

The French section of the Language Centre is an accredited examination centre of the set of DELF/DALF exams.

These are official French language proficiency diplomas, which are administered by the France Education International (formerly CIEP) near Paris.

They are based on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR-L) and recognised worldwide by businesses and universities.

Choosing the correct level

As a foreigner, you need the B1 level to apply for French citizenship, the B2 level (if you are an undergraduate student) and the C1 level (if you are a postgraduate student) to register in French Universities. (Please note: If you plan on doing an Erasmus Year Abroad in a French University, you do not need the DELF B2 as this scheme falls into the Student Exchange Programme between Partner Universities)

If you want French language to be an asset in your career, we would recommend you take the DELF/DALF exams. It will add an international and life-long diploma to your employability skills in your CV.
