Russian Advanced One (FLR3415)

15 credits

Russian Advanced One is intended for students who have successfully completed FLR2330 Russian Intermediate Two or who have a level broadly of A level (Grade A*-B) or equivalent.

The module develops all four core language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as advanced grammatical structures of Russian in a communicative context. The module is taught mostly in Russian. The module provides a systematic approach to building on essential grammar structures in a communicative context.

Russian Advanced One is designed for students with a solid foundation in Russian and strengthens your knowledge of the language by further developing your vocabulary and communication skills.

You’ll also learn more about Russian customs, culture and society to develop an awareness of the language’s background and context.

This module will develop your vocabulary and communication skills for daily and academic situations required for working or studying abroad. The exit level is broadly equivalent to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
