Research interests
My main interests lie on the application of a communicative approach to Second Language teaching. My aim is to focus on the students' capacity to enhance their linguistic performance by means of a comprehensive interaction with language. This involves oral and written communication, driven by a sociocultural element that makes language and the need for communication meaningful.
Within literature, I have recently completed a PhD in Spanish literature from the fin de siécle and the end of the millennium. My research focuses on the influence of Miguel de Unamuno in Arturo Pérez-Reverte and Luisa Castro's idea of Spain. Other interests lie on the present image of the Transition process towards democracy in Spain, and the current subversion of the process of nationalization established by the Constitution of 1978. From 2011, I also work as an Associate Teacher in Hispanic Studies at the University of Bristol, where I have been in charge of several modules on Spanish Literature and Latin-American Cinema (19th and 20th centuries)
